href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/rob-brydon\/\">Rob Brydon<\/a> has admitted that he came close to spoiling his new <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/bbc-2\/\">BBC<\/a> series after making a near-egregious mistake.<\/p>\n<p>For many avid TV watchers, this writer included, it\u2019s been a while since we\u2019ve had a <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/game-shows\/\">gripping gameshow<\/a> to sink our teeth into in the absence of <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/the-traitors\/\">The Traitors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Granted, we do have the <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/05\/14\/celebrity-traitors-line-up-a-game-changing-moment-television-23079401\/\">celebrity version of the series<\/a> launching very soon, but there\u2019s still an excruciating wait until that day comes.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately for us, there\u2019s now a new competition on the horizon that\u2019ll hopefully scratch the itch in the best way possible \u2013 Destination X.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/gavin-and-stacey\/\">Gavin and Stacey<\/a> star Rob, the show will see 13 competitors ride on a bus with blacked-out windows as they try to figure out where on Earth they are\u2026 literally.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of each episode, the contestants must place an X on a map to guess where in the world they are, and whoever\u2019s furthest away from the actual destination is eliminated, missing out on reaching the end and bagging the coveted \u00a3100,000 prize.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item All you need to know\t\t\t<\/h2>\n<div class=\"factbox-content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does Destination X work?<\/h2>\n<p>On the new BBC programme Destination X, 13 contestants are going up against each other to win a \u00a3100,000 prize.<\/p>\n<p>All they need to do? Guess where in the world they are. I loved the idea of it, the combination of having to work out clues as to where you are and having to get on with each other. It struck me as the best bits of The Traitors with the best bits of Race Across the World,\u2019 he shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The other thing that attracted me was the scale of it and being a part of a show as ambitious as this, with as huge a crew and as huge a team. I knew it would be a real challenge to see if I could steer that ship.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He admitted that he was \u2018surprised at how invested\u2019 he became in the series, a realisation that took barely any time at all.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018You get involved with the contestants and you feel for them when they are struggling, and you celebrate with them when they do well.
