Now, I\u2019ve got a whole movie courtesy of Luca Guadagnino, a director who knows how to give girls everything they\u2019ve ever wanted. <\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Fresh off the success of <em>Challengers <\/em>last year, a film where three people square off in thrillingly erotic scenarios, Guadagnino is back with <em>After the Hunt, <\/em>which also sees another three people do the same. The film stars Ayo Edebiri as a student who makes a stunning accusation against Julia Roberts\u2019 professor colleague, played by Andrew Garfield. A new trailer, out today, promises secrets, sex and suspense as their lives collapse around them on the college\u2019s campus. <\/p>\n<p>Check it out below: <\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"rm-shortcode\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"62d91979ae0bb6c2bf033edc9d293e94\" style=\"position:relative;padding-top:56.25%\"><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"After The Hunt | Official Trailer\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A8R6DMlDtxk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>An official synopsis claims the film is a \u201cgripping psychological drama about a college professor (Julia Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Ayo Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Andrew Garfield), and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light.&#8221; Written by first-time screenwriter Nora Garrett, After the Hunt will apparently touch on issues around #MeToo, consent, and the politics of college ecosystems. In the trailer, Edebiri\u2019s character says: &#8220;It&#8217;s just like amazing to me, a young Black woman can get assaulted, and all these white people figure out a way to make it about themselves.\u201d <\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Back in 2024, Guadagnino gave an interview on <em>WTF with Marc Maron<\/em> where he said the film is \u201cabout the milieu of academia and what happens between the older and younger people, and the idea of consent.\u201d He also described the film as \u201cloaded\u201d and \u201cprovocative, but not in a stupid way.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The film is distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, whose various subsidiaries pre-and-post merger also distributed many of Guadagnino\u2019s other hit films, like <em>Challengers<\/em>, <em>Bones and All<\/em> and <em>Suspiria<\/em>.
