Out they go, to every streetcorner and rooftop to sing of the good news: Jax Taylor has officially left Bravo\u2019s<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.papermag.com\/tag\/the-valley\" target=\"_blank\">The Valley<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Variety<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/jax-taylor-exits-the-valley-season-3-recovery-1236449740\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><u>reports<\/u><\/a> that the embattled reality television villain has officially left Bravo\u2019s fledgling hit followup to <em>Vanderpump Rules<\/em>. His statement to the outlet reads: \u201cAfter an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I\u2019ll be stepping away from the next season of <em>The Valley<\/em>. Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting relationship. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself \u2014 especially for our son, Cruz.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The news comes after outcry from fans, viewers, and critics after a season spent documenting Taylor\u2019s outright abusive behavior towards ex-wife Brittany Cartwright. In the season premiere, he and Cartwright both detail an incident between them in which he flipped a coffee table at her in a fit of rage while their son was present. His anger issues were then extensively documented on camera while in-and-out of treatment over the course of season two\u2019s production schedule, like frequent and emotionally volatile texts to Cartwright, stalking over the couple\u2019s shared security cameras and more. <\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"rm-shortcode\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"b2cad2f8fb0193e90eb41c07ae579a8f\" style=\"position:relative;padding-top:56.25%\"><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SNEAK PEEK: Your First Look at The Valley Season 2! | The Valley (S2) | Bravo\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0FXIw_QiTQw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>As cast member Michelle Saniei told Cartwright in the season two premiere: \u201cYou have to be very careful, Brittany. If he\u2019s escalating, it takes one second for something to happen. And once something happens, there\u2019s no going back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier <em>Variety<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/bravo-the-valley-jax-taylor-cocaine-season-2-1236434173\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><u>piece<\/u><\/a>, executive producer Alex Baskin \u2014 who famously conceived of <em>The Valley<\/em> with Taylor as the centerpiece years ago \u2014 said of Cartwright\u2019s mentality this season: \u201cShe was going to say everything that she had experienced \u2014 that\u2019s her story. She felt like the problem was he had been enabled for too long. And she\u2019s like, \u2018Fuck that. I\u2019m not doing that. I\u2019m going to say it out loud.\u2019 She was done. She was going to say everything.\u201d He added that what the show would become for season three, as of June, was still up in the air. \u201cIt\u2019s very likely the show does look different next season, but I don\u2019t know what different means.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Apparently, the first major step involves Taylor\u2019s exit. Notably, his statement does not read with any finality, leaving room for a possible return in later seasons. Baskin has made dramatic returns something of a staple on his stable of shows, from <em>The Real Housewives of Orange County <\/em>and <em>The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em> to <em>Vanderpump Rules<\/em>. Taylor himself did not appear for the show\u2019s 9th and 10th seasons, before making a guest appearance in season twelve to jumpstart <em>The Valley<\/em> premiere. His exit was due to his public behavior towards former cast member Faith Stowers, who he made racist remarks about alongside <em>The Valley <\/em>co-star Kristen Doute, who has since apologized. <\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m curious to see if there will be a gag order on Cartwright that forbids her from discussing Taylor on camera, or even filming with their son Cruz. It\u2019s something we\u2019ve seen the men of <em>Vanderpump Rules<\/em> do in the past, like Lala Kent\u2019s ex Randall Emmett, who did not allow himself to be named or his child with Kent to be filmed. On <em>The Real Housewives of Orange County<\/em>, we\u2019ve seen similar moves pulled by exes like Simon Barney.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Once, villains like Jax Taylor were the gold-standard on Bravo, pulling fantastic ratings while invigorating shows with strife and chaos. Longtime viewers will remember his many scuffles and indiscretions on <em>Vanderpump Rules<\/em>, scenes once seen as the best the network had to offer. But there is a distinct line between the entertaining chaos of Taylor admitting to sleeping with his best friend\u2019s girlfriend while he was watching <em>Drive<\/em> and abusing his soon-to-be ex-wife.
